COVID-19

COVID-19

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected our nation and the State of South Carolina. SCRPP will continue to support you during this difficult time. Although your individualized monitoring requirements (daily check-ins, meeting requirements, and contact with your assigned recovery specialist) will continue to apply, we encourage you to make safe and informed decisions that promote recovery and comply with social distancing as recommended by the CDC. Please keep your assigned recovery specialist informed as you encounter issues with SCRPP related requirements.

As a precautionary measure, the SCRPP office will be closed until further notice. RPP staff will be working remotely with the same office hours: 8 am-4:30 pm. Our agency’s leadership will continue to monitor the situation daily to determine if a change in that time period is warranted. Contact with your recovery specialist can be made via telephone, email, and through Recovery Trek-Trek mail.  All new intakes that require immediate attention, will be completed remotely via email or scheduled for in-person, upon reopening of the office, when circumstances regarding health and safety allow. All new intake staffing appointments, noncompliance staffing appointments, and successful completion exit interviews during this time will be completed remotely, via telephone and secure email. As mentioned in earlier correspondence, monitoring requirements are still required but will be accommodated. Please continue to check in daily and if selected to test, contact your recovery specialist. Three weekly meetings are still required, however, online meetings will be accepted if in-person meetings are not feasible at this time.  All telephone contact that is made by SCRPP will be displayed as a private number.  If you require immediate attention or need assistance after our office hours, please call the emergency line at, (803) 896-5711 (local) or (877) 349-2094 (toll-free). Thank you for your understanding during this national pandemic. Be safe, stay healthy, and we are here to assist you with your recovery needs.

If SCRPP refers you to a facility and/or you are currently engaged in services with a facility, please keep your assigned recovery specialist informed about meeting changes, cancellations, etc.  Your recovery specialist may be reached during normal business hours.  Participants may also call 803-896-5711 at any time.

Online Meeting Resources   SCRPP expects participants to continue to attend meetings. We are aware that there have been a number of changes/cancellations related to in-person meetings, and SCRPP supports attendance at online meetings until the current social distancing recommendations are lifted.  The following websites will help connect you to an online meeting:

www.intherooms.com: AA, NA, Dual Diagnosis, SAA (sex addiction), CPA (chronic pain)

http://na-recovery.org/: NA Online Meetings

http://12stepforums.net/alanonfamilygrouponlinemeeting.html: Alanon online

As set forth above, individualized meeting requirements will continue to apply and participants are expected to document attendance at online meetings for submission to the assigned recovery specialist.

Recovery Based Apps  The WEconnect app provides you with daily reminders to stay on track with your recovery plan. You can create reminders to call your sponsor, go to a group meeting, or meditate—anything you need to provide that extra push.

12 Step Meditation Daily Reflections for AA, NA, Al-Anon- This app features hundreds of easy-to-follow guided meditations, as well as soothing music, prayers, and 12-step recovery audio.

SCRPP encourages you to increase your communication with your sponsor, recovery specialist, and to utilize other facets to maintain your recovery, i.e, daily readings, meditations, etc. For general questions about COVID-19 participants should visit the DHEC website at:https://www.scdhec.gov/health/infectious-diseases/viruses/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid19.gov
